Indonesia, the “Mother of Spices”

As you know, Indonesia has a wide variety of spices. Many Indonesian dishes feature rich taste of spices. No wonder that Indonesia is often called as the Mother of Spices. The seven types of leading Indonesian export spices are nutmeg, pepper, clove, cinnamon, vanilla, ginger and turmeric.

Currently the Indonesia government has a program called “Indonesia Spice Up the World” that promotes Indonesian cuisine around the world. This program is targeting 4000 Indonesian restaurant abroad.
